International Academy of Vehicle Management

Riders for Health are internationally recognised as experts in transport for development and at the International Academy of Vehicle Management (IAVM) in Harare, Zimbabwe that expertise is transferred to all delgates from throughout the developing world.
At the IAVM Riders trains health workers and fleet managers in:
Safe driving and riding
Basic maintenance
Fleet managers.
The Riders International Academy of Vehicle Management was opened in early 2002. Based at the motorsports complex at Donnybrook on the outskirts of Harare, Zimbabwe, the academy has outstanding facilities. There are long and short hard-surface circuits, bush roads, 4x4 course, moto-cross tracks and every kind of obstacle generally encountered while travelling in Africa. There is also a state-of-the-art training workshop, and a suite of classrooms, including one equipped for IT training.

All of the IAVM’s training staff are highly experienced at providing training for any ability, from absolute beginners to experienced drivers, and in providing training for trainers.
The IAVM is a registered driving school with the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe and has been awarded the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
