After breakfast at Jack’s Hill Cafe, the ride-in is led by a few famous faces including Niall Mackenzie, Bradley Smith and Danny John-Jules.
In 2012, supporters of the Marco Simoncelli Foundation rode Vespa scooters 1,200 miles from Italy, bringing a special helmet which raised £2,000.

Every year, on the Thursday before the British MotoGP at Silverstone, MotoGP stars and fans come together to help support Riders for Health. A fun day out for the whole family, the highlight is an amazing live auction featuring all of the top MotoGP riders where fans raise thousands of pounds bidding for signed racing memorabilia. There is also live music, quizzes, interviews with riders and stunt displays throughout the day. Paddock and pit-lane ticket holders also get an inside look at the world of MotoGP with behind the scenes access. What’s more, Day of Champions raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for our lifesaving work in Africa.

Day of Champions is the perfect chance to see the stars of MotoGP when the riders take to the stage to take part in the Riders for Health auction, where there will be chance to bid on some fantastic pieces of signed memorabilia and fantastic once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
The auction is a spectacular end to a day that includes stunt shows, live music, interviews and lots more. With paddock and pit-lane tickets, there will even be the opportunity to experience behind the scenes of the world’s premier motorcycle racing series as MotoGP teams and riders prepare for the weekend ahead.
If you are planning on arriving by motorcycle, why not take part in our ride-in to Silverstone? Leaving from the Heritage Motor Centre motor museum in Gaydon, you and your fellow bikers will ride in convoy before completing two laps of the famous Northamptonshire circuit.

There are three types of tickets:
Entertainment zone: £15 in advance (£18 on the gate), Ticket includes: access to Silverstone, the stage show, live music, interviews, stunt shows, and the Riders for Health auction. Children 15 and under go free!
Paddock and pit-lane tickets: £50 (£35 paddock pass + £15 Ent Zone ticket). These exclusive passes give access to the paddock and pit-lane from 11am – 3pm, giving you the chance to experience behind the scenes of MotoGP as the teams and riders prepare for the race weekend. Tickets also include entry to the entertainment zone and auction. Children 15 and under: £15 (£15 paddock pass + free Ent Zone ticket).
Ride-in: £70 per rider (£35 ride-in and Ent Zone + £35 paddock pass). Ticket includes: a place on the ride-in, breakfast and two laps of the circuit. Ticket also includes paddock and pit-lane access, plus entertainment zone and auction. Rider + pillion: £130; rider + child pillion: £90. Includes two paddock passes and two entertainment zone tickets.
Auction
The auction is the highlight of Day of Champions, drawing thousands of fans to the main stage every year. Each of the riders gives up their time to auction off their own signed items to the highest bidder.
In 2012 the auction raised an incredible £65,000 in just four hours. Every year the auction hosts are a mixture of MotoGP racing legends, commentators and presenters. This includes Riders for Health co-founder and 13-times grand prix winner Randy Mamola, Eurosport duo Julian Ryder and Toby Moody, MotoGP commentator Gavin Emmett and BBC MotoGP presenter Matt Roberts.
This is your chance to get up close to your MotoGP heroes and walk away with exclusive signed race memorabilia and once-in-a-lifetime MotoGP experiences.
History
The first Day of Champions in 1990 was started by Riders co-founders, Andrea and Barry Coleman, on the suggestion of American motorcycle racing legend and three times World Champion Kenny Roberts.
It took place as a special event at Brands Hatch because Roberts was able to use his unique influence to persuade the great racers of the day, such as Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and John Kocinski to take part. They were joined, of course, by Riders’ co-founder, Randy Mamola who has played a crucial part in the event ever since. The idea for Day of Champions grew out of the motorcycling paddock when Andrea and Barry, along with Riders' events manager Jeanette Wragg and a number of committed volunteers, began fundraising for children in developing countries.
As Day of Champions grew, it moved to Donington Park until we followed the MotoGP calendar to Silverstone in 2010. Day of Champions is hugely successful and now attracts over 4,000 visitors, making it one of the UK's largest outdoor fundraising events and a highlight of the British racing calendar.
The event raises hundreds of thousands of pounds every year to support Riders’ lifesaving work in Africa. Without the success of this event, and the support of the motorcycle community, we would not be able to provide access to health care for over 12 million people.
Ride-in
The famous Day of Champions ride-in is a spectacular sight, where hundreds of MotoGP fans come together to show their support for Riders for Health. After breakfast at the Super Sausage Café, 150 motorcyclists and their pillion passengers arrive at Silverstone in a convoy. Last year, the ride-in was led by British Superbike Champion, Niall Mackenzie and British MotoGP hopeful Bradley Smith.
The procession, clearly visible in their yellow Riders for Health vests, then takes to the track and completes two laps of the circuit. Red Dwarf actor and Riders supporter, Danny John-Jules, has taken part in this fantastic experience.
Ride-in ticket holders also receive paddock and pit-lane access.
