Leave to Riders in your will

Help the next generation look forward to a healthier future with the kind of reliable and predictable health care that we take for granted.

As you are thinking about how to care for the needs of your family and friends, you may also want to think about the causes that are important to you. A legacy from you can help our life-saving work continue far into the future, changing the lives of millions of people across Africa.

No matter how big or small your gift is, you can be sure it will make a big difference to the people we work with. Rosemary Mani is a home-based care provider in Kenya. Her job is to visit people living with HIV/AIDs at their homes, where she gives them and their families guidance on how to live positively.

‘Today, I have visited Caleb. He has two wives and three children. His entire family is HIV positive and all are currently on treatment,’ explains Rosemary. ‘During the visits, I give eggs and porridge and check on their general wellbeing. In addition, I also get to know how Caleb is progressing with the business that we helped him to start.’

Rosemary was trained to ride a Riders for Health motorcycle which has allowed her to visit Caleb twice a week without fail. Before, health workers struggled to reach Caleb and his family on a regular basis with medication and support which meant that he was bed-ridden, his wife Beatrice was exhausted from nursing him, working on the family food stand and caring for their one year old baby.

Caleb says ‘When Rosemary visits me I feel encouraged. I don’t know how to thank Rosemary for all her help.’

Whatever your decision, thank you for thinking of the men, women and children in rural communities who are isolated from the vital health care services they so desperately need simply because of where they live.
