MCN readers help Riders

Motorcycle News have handed over a cheque for £3,945 to support our lifesaving work in Africa.

The donation was made by MCN editor Marc Potter and commercial director, Gareth Ashman on behalf of the newspapers’ readers and advertisers. The donation represents money raised through sales of MCN’s one off magazine celebrating the career of eight-time world champion Valentino Rossi. The donation also includes proceeds from the sale of tickets to the 2008 MCN Awards ceremony.

Riders co-founders, CEO Andrea Coleman and executive director, Barry Coleman, accepted the donation, which will help ensure health workers in Africa always have access to reliable transport.

Having a reliable motorcycle, managed by Riders for Health, means a community health worker can reach even the most vulnerable people with regular health care, no matter how isolated their village.

Thanking MCN, Andrea said: ‘MCN have been vital partners to Riders for almost twenty years. We are moved by MCN’s consistent commitment to supporting Riders for Health’s goal to get more and more health workers on motorcycles to deliver health care, safely and reliably, to rural communities in Africa who are desperate need.’
