Make sure you don't miss Day of Champions 2009

Day of Champions is Riders for Health’s annual fundraising event and is one of the highlights of the British motorsport calendar. It is the only place where you can see all the stars of MotoGP on stage and well as enjoying a host of other entertainment throughout the day.

With tickets only £15 and free for anyone under 16, it is the perfect place to take the family during the summer holidays. Tickets can be bought on the gate on the 23rd July, so there is still chance to make sure you are there.

This year Day of Champions is on Thursday 23 July at Donington Park, just off junction 23A of the M1 in Leicestershire.

Randy.jpgRandy Mamola, our co-founder and grand-prix legend will be on hand to present the action on stage and after the Spanish MotoGP he said: ‘The MotoGP at Barcelona was one of the most incredible finishes to a race for a long time. The skill of Valentino and Jorge showed why we all love this sport so much. Don’t forget that you can see Valentino, Jorge, and all of the stars of MotoGP at the Riders for Health Day of Champions at Donington Park on Thursday 23 July. This is the only time, anywhere in the world, when all the riders from every class will all be on stage. Day of Champions is unique so make sure you don’t miss it. I am excited already, so see you there.’

The auction is always a fantastic end to the day and there is certain to be an electric atmosphere as the riders all appear on stage to help auction off leathers, helmets, signed paintings and much more, raising thousands of pounds for Riders’ work. The auction will also see the Eurosport commentating team, Randy Mamola, Toby Moody and Jules Ryder reunited once more as they host the incredible climax to the event.

rossi-auction.jpgFans will also be able to see the future stars of MotoGP as the 125 and 250 riders all appear on stage. So don’t miss the opportunity to hear about how Bradley Smith feels about his amazing season so far and from Scott Reading who famously won at Donington last year.

And if this wasn’t enough British MotoGP star, James Toseland will be performing with his band Crash. Teams from the paddock will be taking part in the quiz A Question of Bikes, presented by Steve Parrish and Keith Huewen and there will also be displays by the X-treme trials team, the Classic Bike Village and mini-motos all in the Entertainment Zone.
