Our Team
Riders resource office in the UK has 16 full time members of staff, but the vast majority of Riders’ staff, over 230 of them, work in our field programmes and are nationals of the counties in which they work. To contact our UK or field offices, click here.
In Africa the Riders for Health's teams are made up entirely of nationals of the countries in which we work. It is thanks to their hard work and dedication that Riders is able to help health workers across Africa to reach nearly 11 million people with regular healthcare.

Andrea is chief executive officer of Riders and has guided the financial/funding and advocacy development of Riders from its inception, including establishing the entrepreneurial income streams and innovative fundraising initiatives.

Barry, is designer of the groundbreaking TRM and TAM systems and the Riders cost-per-kilometre calculator. He has nearly 20 years’ experience in developing sustainable systems for managing motorised transport in hostile conditions.

Widely regarded as the most exciting and most charismatic grand prix motorcycle racer of his generation, Randy Mamola was a consistent challenger for the 500cc world championship title throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
Acting Operations Director
Ngwarati was programme director for Riders' programme in Zimbabwe before transferring to the UK resource centre in January 2007. Ngwarati is now overseeing all of our programmes and working with our teams to replicate Riders’ programmes.
Gambia Programme Director
Therese joined Riders in 2001 after retiring from the civil service, becoming Riders’ Gambia programme director. Therese has guided the development of a nationwide programme, establishing a management team to run the programme.
Lesotho Programme Director
Mahali qualified as a motorcycle rider under Riders’ first nationwide motorcycle fleet programme in Lesotho in 1991. Later Mahali became a lecturer in public health at the University of Bloemfontein before taking up the position as Lesotho programme

The founder of the grassroots organisation, Vumilia, Rose has seen firsthand how reliable transport can transform the work of organisations of any size. Rose is now coordinating our work in Kenya mobilising community-based organisations.

Alfred first became involved with Riders for Health in 1997. He was motorcycle fleet coordinator for 110 motorcycles belonging to the Department of Social Welfare. Alfred was a prominent member of the team that set up Riders in Zimbabwe. He was previous
Acting Programme Director, Nigeria
Abdulkareem joined Riders for Health’s programme in Nigeria in 2009 with the goal of increasing the Riders presence in the country. He is now developing our work with organisations delivering health care, with a specific focus on Enugu state.
