Payroll Giving

What is it?

Payroll Giving is a scheme that makes it possible for you to donate to a UK charity straight from your gross salary, before tax is deducted. And you also receive immediate tax relief on the donation.

What are the benefits to you?

As this is a tax-efficient way to donate and it is deducted straight from your salary, it is a simple and fexible, hassle-free way to give.

Payroll Giving gives you the benefit of immediate tax relief on your donation, so it costs just £7.80 for a standard rate tax payer to donate £10 to Riders.

And it's your chance to support our work on a regular basis and help change the lives of thousands of men, women and children in rural Africa

What are the benefits to Riders?

A regular payroll donation is very vaulable to Riders, as it is a gift we can count on each month. This helps us to plan ahead, ensuring our poineering, life-saving work can continue to grow and develop in the future.

How does it work?

Your employer needs to offer the Payroll Giving service. This means they should be registered with an HM Revenue & Customs approved Payroll Giving Agency (PGA). They also need to have the faility to make pre-tax deductions from your salary.

What do I need to do?

You advise your payroll department that you wish to donate and they arrange for the donation to be deducted from your salary as a pre-tax deduction. The amount of your gift is sent to the PGA your employer is registered with. The agency then sends the donation to Riders. (Donation have to go through this process.)

If your employer is not already registered with a Payroll Giving Agency, it is easy for them to do so. They can read more about this on the HM Revenue & Customs website or by following this link: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/payrollgiving/employers/index.htm
