Riders for Health’s mission is to
ensure that men, women and children
no longer die of easily treatable diseases
due to isolation and poverty.
Just £55 could provide a day’s training for a health worker in motorcycle maintenance and riding.
Please note that the last day for delivery in time for Christmas in the UK is Monday 21st December. The Riders for Health office will be closed from 24th December and will open again on Monday 28th December.
Riders for Health trains health workers to ride motorcycles safely over even the toughest terrains. The health workers are also trained to carry out basic maintenance to ensure that the motorcycle never breaks down between services. This means that no community in the health workers’ care will ever be neglected simply because they can’t be reached and that health services, including vaccinations, maternal care and health education, can be delivered on a regular basis. All training is carried out by local men and women.
“When I first received my motorcycle, I visited a very sick man late at night. He had nobody close to him to help him and care for him. Thanks to the motorcycle I was able to visit him regularly and now he is well,” says Rosemary, a health worker in Kenya.
