Transport Systems in Africa

ambulances.jpg

Riders is an NGO focused on providing reliable and cost-efficient
transportation solutions for health workers who are reaching out to
rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa.

Riders can manage any type, make or model of vehicle effectively so that it does not break down and so that it performs optimally for its useful intended mechanical life. Motorcycles are the most cost-effective and appropriate form of transport for rural health care delivery but when building a comprehensive/national-scale health care delivery platform we advocate a mixed fleet of motorcycles and four-wheel vehicles. The same technical system underpins the management of the entire mixed fleet.

Use this page to find out which of our transport management systems is right for your programme or contact our operations team by completing our transport system enquiry form. To find out more about what Riders for Health does, click here to download our brochure.
